Amity Microbial Repository of Extremophiles from Ladakh

Extremophiles are organisms that thrive in extreme environments. The AMREL-21 project aims to isolate and study microbes from various sites at Ladakh, India. During the Earth and Space Exploration Program 2021, the microbiology team collected several samples from sites that are similar to early Mars; studying microbes at such environments can help us understand more about the limits of life as well us help us use microbes for industrial benefit.
